Following government regulations, all persons are to wear face coverings whilst in the building, unless they have valid exemptions as follows:
– A physical or mental impairment, or a disability that means you cannot put on, wear, or remove a face covering.
– If putting on, wearing or removing a face covering would cause severe distress.
– A child under the age of 11.
At Christ Church there are three services on a Sunday at 9am, 10am and 11am. They will each last around 40 mins.
Booking is essential every week. You can do this through ChurchSuite, or if you’re not a member of Christ Church, you can telephone the church office and book over the phone before Friday 3pm. You will need to give your name and contact details as this information is needed under government guidelines.
Each service is limited to 28 households. (A household is one or more people who are living together in the same house).
The first service at 9am is only for those who would class themselves as vulnerable and have been isolating or shielding. The guidance that we have been given nationally is that it is up to the individual if they want to attend. No-one should feel any pressure to come on Sundays and if you are uncertain or anxious we recommend that you stay at home and watch the online service. The other two services are open to anyone.
There will be no children’s or youth work at the moment.
Children must be under the supervision of parents/carers and helped in keeping social distance.
Please do not arrive more than 15 minutes before the start of the service.
You may have to queue to come into the building, please observe social distancing at all times.
Hand sanitizer will be available at the front door. You will he asked to use that before coming into the building.
You will be required to let the welcomer know you have arrived.
There will be a one way system around the building which welcomers and posters will inform you about when you arrive. Please observe this at all times.
We will ask you to fill up the worship area from the front to ensure distancing while people are finding seats.
Toilets will be open but only one person (unless you are taking a child to the toilet) in them at a time and you will need to follow the one way system.
Please keep any socialising with others not from your household to a minimum.
We would like to keep the handling of cash to a minimum, so if you normally put your collection in the box do please think about setting up a standing order. We will also have a contactless card machine available that you can use for giving.
You will be asked to leave through the fire exits at the front of the worship area to maintain the one way system.
We would ask that if you are displaying any symptoms of COVID 19 that you stay away from the building. Anyone in the building who starts to display the symptoms will be asked to leave immediately.
Worship will also be different during this time as we are not able to sing together. Worship songs may be played at different points, but we cannot sing along with them. This means we will be exploring different ways of expressing worship to our God.
We will be maintaining our online worship for those who cannot come on a Sunday.
It is important that you remember that your safety is paramount. If you have any fears or concerns do please stay at home and continue to use the online worship if you are able to.
